Shaggy and Friends Raised $100 Million This Year Shaggy and Friends benefit concert raised over $100 million this year. The dancehall legend confirmed that his annual benefit concert, Shaggy and Friends, has raised a whopping $100 million from this year’s staging of the event. The money will be used to improve the Intense Care Unit (ICU) at the Bustamante Hospital for Children. “Big Thanks to all who were involved!!!! All Artists, All Production Crew, Shaggy And Friends Staff, All Management and Staff at Bustamante Hospital,” Shaggy said. The “Boombastic” deejay is currently working on their upcoming joint album  44/876 , due on April 20th this year. The one week show is set to see performance from Spice, Capleton, Popcaan, Beres Hammond, Maxi Priest and Sizzla Kalonji with more big name announcements on the way. Damian Marley On Chronixx Collaboration “It Would Be Cool” Damian Marley says he is open to collaborating with Chronixx. Jr. Gong and Chronixx are two of the biggest artists in roots reggae right now, but on Sunday night Gong won the 2018 Grammy for Best Reggae Album. The win sparked the usual debate about the Grammys bias towards the Marleys whenever one of them is nominated in the reggae category. While there may be some truth to the “perceived bias” towards the Marley brand in reggae, Jr. Gong’s album Stony Hill is a great album that deserves to win more than one Grammy. Chronixx has since pushed back at his fans who are criticizing Damian Marley, telling them on Instagram that there would be no him without the reggae/dancehall veteran.
