Popcaan Message To Dancehall Artists “Riddims Don’t Win Grammys”

Popcaan Message To Dancehall Artists “Riddims Don’t Win Grammys”

Popcaan has a straightforward message to dancehall artists, “Riddims don’t win Grammys.”
Popcaan sent out a tweet this week that will resonate among dancehall artists. The unruly boss is celebrating the success of his new album Forever which is currently number two on the charts despite being released from July of this year. Bob Marley‘s Legend (Remastered) album is at the top of the chart, and his Legend (Deluxe) is at number three. This proves to you the longevity of Bob Marley’s work, which is still selling well decades after his death.
“Still top of the charts,” Popcaan tweeted. “Just a reminder to the dancehall industry riddims don’t win Grammys, projects/body of work do. Let’s keep putting out more projects for 2019 Go buy Forever or stream it. More videos on the way.”
Most dancehall artists already know this, but why aren’t more deejays releasing more albums? The answer is very simple; they lack the resources and or the incentive to record an entire body of work. The inception of the genre, dancehall has been largely based on riddims, which helped drives the golden era of the 1990s with many classic beats that are still being sampled by artists to date.
This year, we’ve seen a handful of dancehall acts dropping body of work including Konshens, Agent Sasco, Spice, and more.
Popcaan is looking to snag his first Grammy nomination for his new album, Forever. The project is now available on all streaming service and can be purchased on iTunes.

Was Tommy Lee Sparta Beaten By Cops In Custody ? Deejay In Fear For His Life Tommy Lee Sparta is still behind bars and should be released or charge by Tuesday of next week. Over the weekend rumors surfaced on social media claiming that Tommy Lee Sparta was beaten up behind bars and he is in fear of his life. We reached out to a little birdie who is a part of the Mobay deejay’s circle who told us that is not true. “Tommy Lee good man him never get any beat up or anything like that,” our source told us. We’re also told that the deejay is in fact in fear for his life because he feels like the police force is out to get him or pin some trumped up charges on him. “The police force clearly has a vendetta against him and every year it’s the same thing they arrest him and don’t charge him because they have nothing on him,” sources added.  Tommy Lee Sparta has been arrested a handful of times since 2014 and currently have lottery scamming charges against him...
